3 Days Tour from Errachidia to Merzouga Desert

Day 1: Errachidia Airport – Transfer to Merzouga Sahara Desert

Upon your arrival at Errachidia Airport, our services begin. Your driver will be waiting for you at the terminal for a direct private transfer to Merzouga, at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.

You will check into your charming riad or hotel. Dinner is included at your accommodation, allowing you to relax and absorb the serene desert atmosphere upon arrival.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert Exploration & Camel Trek to Camp

After breakfast at your hotel, we begin our 4×4 desert exploration. We visit Khamlia village to experience the spiritual Gnawa music, meet a nomadic family for tea in their traditional tent, and see the area’s old mines.

Following these cultural visits, we prepare for the highlight: a late afternoon camel trek into the heart of the golden dunes. We will pause to watch the stunning sunset before arriving at our secluded desert camp. Here, you will enjoy a traditional dinner and spend a magical night under a blanket of stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Desert – Sunrise – Ziz Valley – Errachidia Airport

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara. After breakfast at the camp, you will ride your camel back to the village of Merzouga. From there, we begin our return journey to Errachidia Airport.

We will drive through the picturesque Ziz Valley, stopping for a final panoramic view of one of Morocco’s vast palm groves. We will arrive at Errachidia Airport in time for your departure flight, marking the end of our services.

Do we spend two nights in the desert?

You spend two nights in the Merzouga desert area, but in different types of accommodation. The second night is in a desert camp (tents) after a camel trek. The third night is in a hotel in the town of Merzouga, allowing you to enjoy hotel amenities like a private bathroom and possibly a pool after your desert experience.

Are there bathroom facilities at the desert camp?

Yes, our premium desert camps provide shared bathroom facilities with basic toilets and showers. Please note that while they are clean and functional, amenities are simpler than in a city hotel, in keeping with the remote desert environment. We recommend bringing personal toiletries.

Is this tour suitable for children or travelers with limited mobility?

The tour involves some walking over uneven terrain (e.g., in Ait Ben Haddou and Todra Gorges) and the camel ride, which requires mounting/dismounting. While we welcome families, very young children or those with significant mobility concerns may find parts challenging.
