1 Day Trip to Ait Ben Haddou from Marrakech

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After an early morning pickup from your accommodation in Marrakech, we start our scenic drive eastward. We ascend into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m) with opportunities to stop for panoramic photos of the ever-changing landscapes. Descending into the rugged pre-Saharan region, we arrive at the legendary Ait Ben Haddou.

This UNESCO-protected earthen clay ksar is one of Morocco’s most iconic sites. You will have time to explore its winding lanes, ancient granaries, and kasbahs with your guide, learning about its history and famous role in cinema. Afterward, we enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant.

We then continue a short distance to Ouarzazate, where you can see the famous film studios (optional visit). In the afternoon, we begin our return journey over the High Atlas Mountains, arriving back in Marrakech in the early evening for drop-off at your hotel or riad.
