Day 1: Arrival in Tangier

Upon your arrival in Tangier (at the airport, port, or your hotel), you will be warmly welcomed by our team. Enjoy a short introductory tour of this historic “Bride of the North” before checking into your charming riad or hotel for the night.

Day 2: Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen

After breakfast, depart for the famous “Blue Pearl,” Chefchaouen. En route, stop in the city of Tetouan, known for its Andalusian influence. Cross the scenic Rif Mountains and arrive in Chefchaouen in the afternoon. Check in and enjoy a free evening to start exploring its iconic blue-washed alleyways. Overnight in Chefchaouen.

Day 3: Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fes

Travel through the Rif Mountains to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO site. Explore the ancient mosaics before continuing to the imperial city of Meknes to see Bab Mansour and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Arrive in Fes in the evening. Overnight in Fes.

Day 4: Guided Tour of Fes

With a local guide, dive into the ancient medina of Fes. Visit the Royal Palace gates, the historic Jewish Quarter (Mellah), the Al-Qarawiyyin University, the famous tanneries, and enjoy a panoramic view over the medina. Overnight in Fes.

Day 7: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

Depart the desert, stopping at the historic market of Rissani. Continue to the stunning Todra Gorge for a walk between its towering cliffs. Drive on to the dramatic Dades Valley for the night.

Day 8: Dades Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, journey through the Rose Valley towards Ouarzazate. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou. Then, cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka pass to arrive in Marrakech in the evening. Overnight in your riad.

Day 9: Guided Tour of Marrakech

Discover the “Red City” with a local guide. Visit the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Koutoubia Mosque, and the bustling souks. The tour includes the beautiful Majorelle and Menara Gardens. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 10: Marrakech – Day Trip to Essaouira

Escape to the Atlantic coast on a day trip to the laid-back port of Essaouira. Drive through Argan tree forests, see tree-climbing goats, and enjoy free time to explore the fortified medina, fishing port, and beaches. Return to Marrakech in the late afternoon. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 11: Marrakech – Casablanca – Rabat

Travel to the capital, Rabat, via Casablanca. In Casablanca, visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque. After lunch, continue to Rabat to tour the Hassan Tower, Mohammed V Mausoleum, and the Kasbah of the Udayas. Overnight in Rabat.

Day 12: Rabat – Transfer to Tangier Airport

After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed drive north via highway to Tangier Ibn Battouta Airport. We will ensure you arrive in time for your departure flight, marking the end of your Grand Tour of Morocco.

Do we spend two nights in the desert?

You spend two nights in the Merzouga desert area, but in different types of accommodation. The second night is in a desert camp (tents) after a camel trek. The third night is in a hotel in the town of Merzouga, allowing you to enjoy hotel amenities like a private bathroom and possibly a pool after your desert experience.

Are there bathroom facilities at the desert camp?

Yes, our premium desert camps provide shared bathroom facilities with basic toilets and showers. Please note that while they are clean and functional, amenities are simpler than in a city hotel, in keeping with the remote desert environment. We recommend bringing personal toiletries.

Is this tour suitable for children or travelers with limited mobility?

The tour involves some walking over uneven terrain (e.g., in Ait Ben Haddou and Todra Gorges) and the camel ride, which requires mounting/dismounting. While we welcome families, very young children or those with significant mobility concerns may find parts challenging.
