An unforgettable 9 Days Morocco Tour from Tangier, from the Mediterranean coast to the vast Sahara Desert and through its historic imperial cities. This comprehensive tour begins in Tangier and concludes in Casablanca, blending ancient history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes.
Explore the blue streets of Chefchaouen, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the medieval alleys of Fes, and the bustling souks of Marrakech. Experience the magic of a Sahara sunrise, the hospitality of desert communities, and the scenic beauty of the Atlas Mountains and lush valleys.
Designed for a seamless and immersive adventure, this tour offers a complete and profound introduction to the heart and soul of Morocco.
Upon your arrival at the port or airport in Tangier, our driver will meet you with a warm welcome. Our journey begins immediately as we drive towards Chefchaouen, crossing the Rif Mountains via Tetouan. After checking into your hotel, you will have a free afternoon to explore and discover the beauty of the iconic blue-washed streets. Overnight in a Riad or Hotel.
After breakfast at your riad, we depart for the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, traveling via Ouazzan and other Rif villages. At Volubilis, we will explore the archaeological site and learn about Morocco’s rich history. We then continue to the imperial city of Meknes, a 17th-century UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, we will stop for lunch and visit historical sites such as the monumental Bab el Mansour gate and the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. In the late afternoon, we head to Fes for the night.
After breakfast, we begin a full-day guided tour of Fes, one of the world’s oldest and most fascinating medieval cities. Our exploration includes the Royal Palace gate, the historic Jewish Quarter (Mellah), the renowned Al Qaraouine University, the vibrant tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. You will also visit a traditional pottery cooperative and enjoy a panoramic view over the entire Medina. Overnight in your Riad.
We check out and depart Fes, traveling towards the Sahara Desert. Our route takes us through Ifrane, known as “Morocco’s Switzerland,” and into the Middle Atlas Mountains, where we may spot wildlife. We continue through Midelt, descend through the dramatic Ziz Gorges, and follow the lush Ziz Valley with its palm groves, passing through Erfoud, famous for its fossils and dates. We arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, where you will mount camels for a trek to a desert camp. Spend the night under the stars in a traditional Berber tent.
Today is dedicated to exploring the Sahara region. We will visit nomadic families in their tents to learn about their resilient lifestyle. Next, we visit the village of Khamlia, home to the Gnawa people, who will share their spiritual and authentic music over mint tea. After lunch, you will have a free afternoon at your desert hotel. The evening is at your leisure to enjoy the tranquil desert atmosphere.
After breakfast, we depart for the Dades Valley. We will pass through the traditional market town of Rissani and see the ancient *khettara* irrigation systems. Our journey continues to the stunning Todra Gorges, where you can walk between its towering cliffs. We then drive through the Todra Valley and several Berber villages before arriving at our accommodation in the Dades Valley for the night.
After leaving the hotel, we travel through the Valley of Roses to Ouarzazate. We then visit the famous Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and iconic film location. Afterwards, we cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m), with several photo stops along the scenic route. We arrive in Marrakech in the evening for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, a local guide will lead you on a tour of Marrakech’s most beautiful monuments, including the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, and the Marrakech Museum. You will also see the iconic Koutoubia Mosque. The tour continues to the vibrant Jardin Majorelle and the serene Menara Garden. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore at your own pace. Overnight in your Riad.
Following breakfast, we will transfer you from Marrakech to the Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca in time for your departing flight. Our services conclude here.
You spend two nights in the Merzouga desert area, but in different types of accommodation. The second night is in a desert camp (tents) after a camel trek. The third night is in a hotel in the town of Merzouga, allowing you to enjoy hotel amenities like a private bathroom and possibly a pool after your desert experience.
Yes, our premium desert camps provide shared bathroom facilities with basic toilets and showers. Please note that while they are clean and functional, amenities are simpler than in a city hotel, in keeping with the remote desert environment. We recommend bringing personal toiletries.
The tour involves some walking over uneven terrain (e.g., in Ait Ben Haddou and Todra Gorges) and the camel ride, which requires mounting/dismounting. While we welcome families, very young children or those with significant mobility concerns may find parts challenging. Please contact us to discuss private vehicle adjustments or alternative arrangements to best accommodate your needs.
The tours we offer are examples of our most popular journeys. However, Morocco is best experienced at your own pace and interest. If you have different dates, destinations, or specific requirements, please contact us. We will happily customize a private itinerary—adjusting durations, accommodations, activities, or routes—to ensure your trip is exactly as you envision.
