ITINERARY OF: 14 Days Casablanca Sahara Desert trip

 

Day 1: Casablanca – Marrakech:

14 Days Casablanca Sahara Desert upon your arrival at Casablanca Airport, you will be welcomed by a member of our team, and then you will be transferred to your accommodation..

Day 2: Marrakech sightseeing tour:

This starts with the local guide for exploring the most beautiful monuments of Marrakech, such as Bahia palace, Saadian tombs, Marrakech museum, Koutoubia mosque, etc. The rest of the tour will be for Majorelle Garden and Menara Garden.

Day 3: Merrakech – Essaouira – Marrakech:

In the morning our driver meets you in the reception to take you for a memorable day trip to Essaouira, which is considered as an escape site from stress and busy life of Marrakesh. So, we want to take you to such a nice town with a beautiful beach. 

Our day trip will take us through numerous villages scattering alongside the road with beautiful sceneries of Argan trees. We will make a stop to see goats climbing the trees. We arrive to Essaouira and have free time to walk around the medina. After lunch, we pick you up back to Marrakech.

Day 4: Marrakech- High Atlas Mountains– Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley:

After having your breakfast we pick you up from your accommodation and then we drive towards High Atlas Mountains where we are going to cross Tizi N Ticha Pass 2260 m. We will have some stops to take some pictures and to enjoy the beautiful sceneries. 

Subsequently, we continue our way to Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah which is a UNESCO world heritage site, where a lot of movies were filmed, such as Game of Thrones, Gladiator, The Bible, Lawrence of Arabia and more. After so, we continue towards Ouarzazate (Hollywood of Africa) where biggest cinema studios in Africa. Then we continue our trip towards Skoura valley, Rose Valley and Dades valley. Overnight in Boumalne Dades.

Day 5: Dades valley -Todra Valley/Gorges – Erfoud – Rissani – Merzouga Sahara Desert:

Have your fabulous breakfast in your Riad and get ready to leave Dades to our next destination Sahara Desert. On Dades-Merzouga we will pass through Berber villages scattering alongside the road. We will have panoramic view stops in Todra Valley before we arrive to Todra Gorges where we will have a short walk through its rocks and cliffs which are known to be a good destination for rock climbing.

 Later on we continue our drive to Merzouga passing via Erfoud “capital of fossils and dates”. Up to our arrival to the sahara desert, you get prepared to start your camel ride crossing the dunes to arrive to your desert camp deep in Sahara Desert of Merzouga, and then Overnight in a desert camp.

Day 6: Merzouga Sahara Desert – Khamlia – Visiting Nomads – Merzouga Oasis – Merzouga:

Get up early for what might be the charming sunrise ever. To see the sun coming up over the dunes is something that you should see at least once in lifetime. After doing so, you trek back to the to meet your car, we take our 4×4 (4WD) to visit Khamlia, a village which is inhabited by black people originally from Sudan to enjoy their traditional Gnawa music. 

After that, we continue our journey by visiting Mefis mines and having a mint tea with a nomadic family to taste desert nomadic lifestyle. We might have lunch there or somewhere in desert before or after visiting Merzouga Oasis, then going to our desert hotel to enjoy the rest of the day and overnight in Merzouga.

Day 7: Merzouga Sahara Desert – Erfoud – Ziz Valley/Gorges – Midelt –Ifrane – Fez:

We pick you up after having your breakfast as usual, and drive to Fez. Our journey will take us through numerous villages such as Erfoud, Aoufous… to arrive to Ziz valley. 

More lately, we start heading via High-Atlas Mountains, crossing “Tizi N Telghemt” Camel pass (1907m) to get to Midelt, and then crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains; where we meet some Barbary Apes. Afterwards, we continue our way to Fez through Ifrane which consider a little Switzerland of Morocco, then overnight in a charming Riad in Fez.

Day 8: Exploring Fes:

After your breakfast as a habit, we will start exploring Fes as one of oldest cities in Morocco with narrow alleys. This starts firstly by visiting the Royal Palace gate and the Jewish headquarter, the first Mellah ever that was built in Morocco during the 16th century. 

Next, we see the famous Al Qaraouine University, tanneries, the Attarine museum and Moulay Idriss Mausoleum. Afterwards, you will visit the tiles fabrication and will experience a wonderful panoramic view overlooking the whole Medina of Fes. Overnight in your Riad.

Day 9: Fez – Meknes – Volubilis – Ouazzane – Chefchaouen:

After your fabulous Breakfast, we go ahead via Meknes and Volubilis to the blue city of Chefchaouen. First we start with Meknes, which is a former capital of Morocco during Ismailien Dynasty reign in which also we are going to see some interesting monuments such as Bab Mansour, Herri Souani, Qara Prison.

 Then we continue our journey towards Volubilis, to visit these historic ancient Roman ruins. And then we continue our way to the blue town via Rif Mountains for overnight..

Day 10: Exploring Chefchaouen:

Today is a free day in Chefchaouen where you will have free time to visit this beautiful blue town and enjoy a walk exploring the white-blue washed walls of its Medina. Night in your Riad.

Day 11: Chefchouen – Tetouan – Tanger:

Today will take us to Tanger the only city in Africa which has the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. After a short drive from Chefchaouen we make it to Tetouan “white town” as locals call it. Here you will have some free time to explore its beautiful Medina.

 After doing so, we head towards some of the most beautiful landscapes of Tanger, where we will drive via the beautiful beach of Achakar and the famous Hercules Cave. Later on we go for check in our hotel.

 

Day 12: Tanger – Assilah – Rabat:

After your fabulous breakfast we leave Tanger to the economic capital of Morocco via Assilah. After a short drive we will arrive Assilah, you will have free time to walk around its small Medina and enjoy its old harbor and some beautiful arts.

 Subsequently, we drive through high way to the capital of Morocco Rabat. Before we go for check in we will visit some monuments such as; Tour Hassan, Hassan II Mausoleum and Oudaya Kasbah. Overnight in Rabat.

 

Day 13: Rabat – Casablanca:

After we have breakfast and enjoy Rabat we head to the economic capital of Morocco Casablanca. Where to visit the most beautiful mosque in Africa, it is also the third biggest mosque in the world. After visiting the Hassan II Mosque we will go for a short walk by the seashore of Casablanca and see Ricks Café. Overnight in Casablanca.

 

Day 14: Casablanca – Airport:

After having great time with us, see all the beauty and the highlight of Morocco, we will transfer you to the airport according to your flight time. Our services end here.
